OCR PDF turns a scanned document into a searchable PDF. Text recognition (OCR) reads each scanned page and adds an invisible text layer over the words: the PDF looks exactly the same, but you can now search it, select text and copy it.
How do I make a scanned PDF searchable?
+
Choose your PDF, pick its language and click Make PDF searchable. Download the new PDF and use Ctrl+F to search its text.
Which languages are recognized?
+
OCR currently reads English and French text. Other languages using the Latin alphabet are partly recognized, without some accents.
Will the PDF look different?
+
No. The original pages stay as they are; only an invisible text layer is added.
Is my document uploaded?
+
No. OCR runs entirely in your browser, so your document never leaves your device.
